Closing note...

Limerick and her crew will be signing off for a few days while we cruise some islands near La Paz, Mexico. We will be in contact with Apple daily via Iridium sat phone to record her position but unable to update the blog.

Apple and crew have had a few days of very light winds. They are now about 600 miles from their destination, having covered almost 2500 mls.

 

With the light winds Mike opted for a swim and got stung by a jellyfish. Following is their text (a little humor with a sting):  ' the jellyfish grabbed the yacht and Mike (dove in) wrestled it. It had seven eyes and lots of teeth the size of Apple's parents, white giant killer...'

Thanks to Mike, Apple and her crew are once again safe and sound.

Talked with Mike today via sat phone. They crossed the equator at 3:30 am this morning and celebrated. If the wind holds, they are about a week out (850 mls) from there first destination, Hiva Oa. 

The trip has been amazing. In crossing the equator squalls and seas have calmed. Today the sea is like jelly on a magnifying glass. Mike has begun challenging Apple for her food, apparently too many candy bars were provisioned and not enough real food. Veronica has become one with the spinnaker, floating on the foredeck by day...
